Packing Lists


Packing for a baby can feel overwhelming at first.
After several trips with Parker, this is the list we now use when preparing for travel.

You don’t need everything on this list for every trip – but these are the items we consider before leaving.

Diaper Bag

These are the items we keep in the diaper bag during flights, road trips, or long travel days.

  • 1 diaper for each anticipated hour of travel
  • wipes
  • changing pad
  • sweater for baby
  • 2-3 extra outfits for baby
  • 3-4 burp/drool cloths
  • 2-3 bibs (these are huge outfit savers)
  • baby blanket
  • small garbage bags (diaper disposal)
  • wet/dry bag
  • mini-diaper-bag
    • 2 diapers
    • small pack of wipes
    • changing pad
    • extra outfit for baby

  • extra outfit for each person travelling
  • baby’s passport (international only)
  • baby’s birth certificate (with parent names listed)
  • letter of consent (if both parents listed are not travelling)
  • 2-3 soothers
  • 2-3 teethers
  • 2-3 new or recently rotated toys
  • 2-3 soother/teether/toy clips
  • disinfectant wipes

Phone

  • travel insurance information
  • flight tickets
  • e-sim ready for arrival

Clothing

  • outfit for each day + 1

Sleep

  • sleeper for each night away + 1
  • 1 light, 2 medium, and 1 warm sleep sack
  • crib sheet (sometimes not provided even when crib is)
  • enough diapers for arrival day and 1 night
  • portable nightlight/sound machine
  • safe sleep surface (if not provided by accommodation)

Beach/Swim

  • full body UV protection swimsuit
  • 2 reusable swim diapers
  • baby sunglasses
  • 2-3 wide brimmed sunhats
  • baby sunscreen (>6 months)
  • UV protection tent/playpen
  • wet/dry bag

Winter/Mountains

  • merino wool base layer
  • fleece bunting
  • puddle suit/wind breaker
  • snow suit
  • 2-3 toques
  • baby mittens
  • warm socks
